The above example is not a proper format for following up. It’s too brief and shows that you’re only interested in your own business. Another mistake is sending a too wordy follow-up email i.e. with hundreds and thousands of words. An editor can’t invest his/her time in reading one single email. Don’t include an introduction or such type of information while following up.

That means your email needs to be concise, brief, straightforward, and to the point but it shouldn’t sound like a robot (just like in the case of the first example).
